I went on a fabulous three-day whirlwind trip to Park City last week and I wanted to share some of the amazing experiences I had discovering this Utah city for the first time. This three-part blog series will cover my ski, spa and stay adventures:

Where to Stay
After just an 80-minute flight (shorter than the spa treatments I was treated to while in town) I disembarked in Salt Lake City. As soon as I got my ski bags, I travelled just another 35 minutes to Park City─usually when I go on ski trips, its necessary to rent a car and drive at least an hour or two, so I loved this short jaunt to the slopes. The proximity to the international airport is certainly a selling point for Park City.

By 8 p.m. I had arrived at the lovely Hotel Park City, which is centrally located in the heart of town, within five miles of all three of Park City’s ski resorts, and just a few minutes from downtown and historic Main Street.
The hotel is an all-suites accommodation, which is perfect for ski vacations. Each room comes equipped with a kitchen (for storing après ski wine and cheese), a fireplace (for après ski cuddling), a huge bathroom with multi-head shower and two-person tub (for après ski soaking), and laundry machines (for après ski clean up). The rooms are luxurious yet comfortable, so both couples and families will feel at home.

Built just five years ago, much thought was put into the design of Hotel Park City. All suites face onto the pool area (which is heated and quite popular, even in winter), the golf course and the mountain, providing excellent views for every room. The lobby is also a well-designed traditional central layout, with fireplace and lodgelike furniture. A Ruth’s Chris steakhouse provides a hearty dinner at night, and a lovely skier’s buffet each morning.

My favorite part of the Hotel Park City, despite all its frills, was the service. Lugging around ski equipment can be a hassle, but the hotel staff are quick to assist with the bags, and always on hand to store your skis when you are done for the day, and keep your ski boots warm (so that you don’t have to clutter your suite with such equipment). The free shuttle is also a terrific service, as it drops you off and picks you up at all three ski resorts, making void the need for a car. The staff are also just way too happy and friendly, but why shouldn’t they be─the ski hill is just a few minutes away and they live in a gorgeous city that I can’t wait to get back to.
